Auburn RSL Club was created in 1946 when the Sub branch purchased an army hut and erected the hut on land given to the Sub branch.
The hut, affectionately as the “Tin Hut” presented humble beginnings of the Auburn Returned Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen’s Imperial League Sub branch Club.
The league’s name was changed a number of times and with the introduction of non-returned servicemen and women, the name was again changed to the Returned and Services League of Australia, for anyone interested in history there is a display in the club foyer on memorabilia from the various conflicts around the world that Australia has been involved in. From Auburn RSL Sub branch came a number of other groups who now perform work within the community, being the Auburn-Lidcombe RSL Youth Club Centre and the Auburn-Lidcombe Gumbuya Club Day Care Centre.
Over the years, Auburn RSL Club and Sub branch has supported other organisations within the district, such as Auburn District Hospital, St Josephs Hospital and other worthwhile groups.
The liquor licence for the Auburn RSL club was granted in 1955 and since then the club has been serving members and their guests.
The club has many facilities available, the all you can eat Buffet is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, including Christmas day, children are welcome in the Buffet, there is also an excellent Coffee Shop that is also open 7 days a week.
Seminars or meetings can also be catered for by contacting the Function Manager with numbers from 20 to 300.
The Club also provides 3 full size snooker tables, 3 table tennis tables and an indoor bowls facility, an excellent TAB area.
The Auburn RSL Club contributes around $120,000 each year through CDSE donations to many organisations and those organisations are mostly from within the Auburn LGA.
